Typical jobs

What construction & municipal actually does with them

Drawn from the orders that come through the yard, not from a market report.

Site water and dust control

Technical or as-is grade, gravity-fed or pumped to a spray bar. Nobody cares about staining.

Flood and berm barriers

Filled with water or sand and linked with strapping. We supply cleaned, drilled and strapped sets.

Ballast and counterweight

The cheapest 2,300 lb of controllable weight available, and fully reversible.

Concrete and slurry water

As-is units, used hard, recycled at the end of the job rather than hauled home.

Crates, cribbing and storage

Cage only — stackable, strappable, fork-liftable, and cheap enough to leave on site.

Fuel and lubricant staging

Correct gaskets, correct containment, correct labelling. Non-negotiable.

Grade recommendation

What we would sell you

Unwashed / As-Is and Technical, with cage-only for structural uses

When the contents are water, slurry or sand, cleanliness is irrelevant and price is everything — which is why this sector gets the best value in the yard. For fuel or lubricant staging we switch to washed grade with the correct gaskets and containment.

Sector pitfalls

What catches this sector out

Every one of these is something we have watched happen to a customer, which is why it is written down here.

A barrier set must be planned, not improvised
Linked totes work well as a temporary barrier and badly as an afterthought. Drilling, strapping and the fill medium all matter. We build sets to order rather than selling loose units for the purpose.
Sun and site abuse age bottles fast
Two summers of UV plus forklift contact and a bottle is finished. Buy accordingly, use it hard, and send it back to us for recycling instead of burying it on site.
Do not stack filled units on uneven ground
Ever. Site ground is rarely level and a two-high filled stack on a slope is an incident waiting for a witness.
End of job is not end of life
We will buy back or recycle the whole lot, including the beaten ones. Hauling them to a landfill is the one genuinely wasteful option.
